This custom home project by LUKA Design personifies that kind of understanding.

If the name LUKA Design sounds familiar, there’s good reason. The design team was recently named the winner of CNC Cabinetry’s annual March Madness Design competition, where another one of their standout projects earned the top spot through community voting.

While this home is a separate project, it offers another look at the thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and distinct design perspective behind LUKA Design’s work.

The Home & The Vision

From the earliest planning stages, every detail was considered through the lens of the clients’ lifestyle and vision: timeless, sophisticated, deeply personal, and designed to feel as good to live in as it looks.

The inspiration for the project came from the clients’ desire for a home that felt luxurious, but still approachable. Refined and elevated, but still warm enough for everyday life.

This balance shaped the entire direction of the home. Natural materials, layered textures, and a thoughtful blend of contemporary and timeless elements helped create a space that feels polished without feeling untouchable.

The scale of the project also allowed LUKA Design to think beyond each individual room. Every space needed to connect to the next with purpose, so the home would feel cohesive from the first impression through the most personal corners.

Designing The Heart of The Home

The kitchen was designed as the heart of the home, which meant it had to set the tone for the warmth, proportion, and quiet sophistication found throughout the house.

The home’s organic palette influenced the cabinetry selections, material choices, and overall detailing. Clean lines kept the kitchen feeling current, while balanced proportions and subtle architectural elements gave it a more timeless quality.

The goal was to create a kitchen that felt connected to the surrounding rooms - a space that supported everyday living while still delivering the level of refinement expected in a custom home.

Cabinetry As Architecture
